Peta Galloway is the head, heart and soul behind knitwear label petrafanella;
'petrafanella is the name that my mum used to call me as a little girl. As a name for my label it conveys feelings of homeliness and comfort, as well as just the right mix of style and playfulness. All petrafanella garments are designed and stitched, hand or machine knitted by myself in the creative spaces I can snatch between work and motherhood.
I love the way that children dress so unselfconsciously - layering their favourite items in a way that makes them happy. petrafanella garments are designed to be loved and experimented with - wrapped, scrunched, pinned, tucked, layered, tied, buttoned, mixed and made your own.'
Peta has tertiary qualifications in arts, fashion and textile design and arts management and considers herself an occasional artist.
petrafanella has been featured in the WA Fashion Design Awards, Perth Fashion Festival New Generation Parades and Everywoman Expo. petrafanella has had stalls at the Fremantle Bazaar, Unwrapped, Upmarket and Made on the Left Markets.
Peta's artwork has been featured in the South Western Times Survey 2008, Harmony Week Exhibition 2006 and City of Melville Sculpture Walk 2011 (with Lex Randolph).
